An intricately carved engineering marvel in temple architecture and well-known destination for erotic sculptures carved all over the temples. Mostly, these sculptures are taken at their face value. But are we really aware of the philosophy behind the same?
Taking you on this journey with us, we will help you reveal the magnificence of the entire group of Khajuraho temples beyond just the erotic sculptures, which only represent about 10% of the entire UNESCO World Heritage Site.
But that’s not all!
We have a lot more on this journey.
We begin our journey with Bhimbetka. From a habitat that is more than 10000 years old, we truly traverse through huge and different times of history.
From Bhimbetka to Sanchi to Vidisha and Khajuraho. A big span of 11000 years. It’s always mesmerizing to see traces of human life from so long ago because it brings our lives and heritage into a clear perspective.
So, going forward, let’s take a quick look at our journey through time.


We will board the morning flight to Bhopal from Pune Airport. Arrive at Bhopal by afternoon.
After checking into the hotel, time will be spared to relax, to have lunch Post lunch, we will visit State Archaeology Museum and Manav Museum at Bhopal.

  • State Archaeology Museum of Bhopal is one of the state of art museum in India. It holds thousands of rare sculptures, manuscripts and much more. Witnessing some of the unique iconographies at this museum is truly an experience.
  • Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalay or National Museum of Humankind at Bhopal is an anthropology museum and displays the evolution of humans through ages. Apart from that, it showcases the culture of diverse tribes living in the remote places of India. It is indeed a learning experience at this museum.

We will start our day 2 with a complete breakfast. Afterward, proceeding ahead in our tour through ages we will leave for Bhimbetka. Here we will witness the art which was left behind by primitive humans. Later we will visit the Bhojpur Temple, built by Raja Bhoj.
Return to Bhopal in the evening.

  • Bhimbetka is a site where we get to see the trails of primitive humans even today. A site declared as WORLD HERITAGE SITE by UNESCO consists of numerous rock shelters spread across the sanctuary. Drawings drawn by a man ten thousand years ago are still visible among these rock shelters. These are some remarkable drawings and we can just imagine the living of a man ten thousand years ago.
  • Bhojpur is a place named after King Bhoja of the Paramara Dynasty who ruled in the 11th century. King Bhoja erected a humongous temple of Shiva at Bhojpur. Not only it is the temple that stuns the viewer but the massive Shivlinga equally plays the role.Though incomplete, it is a treat to witness this magnificent temple when you are in and around Bhopal.

On this day we will check out from the hotel after having breakfast. Leave for another mesmerizing Buddhist site of Sanchi. A World Heritage Site Sanchi is famous for the stupa erected by Emperor Ashoka.
Later we will visit an important city of ancient times – Vidisha. Witness the cave architecture of the Gupta era at Udaigiri near Vidisha.
We will halt at Sagar by evening.

  • Sanchi is another World Heritage Site that would be covered in this Heritage Trail. Emperor Ashoka erected a stupa for Gautam Buddha at Sanchi in 3rd Century BC. Plenty of life moments from Buddha’s life can be observed on the grand Toranas built around this stupa. A place has recently acquired a space on the new ₹20 currency note. But not just this, Sanchi has remained an important place which has witnessed a large span of history.
  • A small village now, Vidisha could have been a very important trade centre at the time of the Maurya and Gupta Empire. An early rock-cut architecture and early iconography of a 4th/5th century can be found at Udaigiri which is situated on the banks of the Halali river, a tributary of the Betwa river.

On this day, we will check out from Sagar in the early morning and reach Khajuraho. After checking in the hotel we will relax till afternoon and leave for Khajuraho sightseeing post lunch.
We will the eastern complex of temples where one cannot but marvel at their architecture from the 10th Century.
Evening will be spared at leisure.

  • Khajuraho – Third World Heritage Site in our journey is famous for some beautiful and magnificent temples erected a thousand years ago. A remarkable feat of architecture and engineering, these temples have a lot of intricate iconography carved across them which we will get to observe closely.

    We will visit these temples and witness some of the unique iconography and understand the architecture styles of these temples.

After breakfast, we will leave for the remaining excursion of Khajuraho and return to the hotel in the evening.

  • We will visit remaining temples at Khajuraho and understand the philosophy and history behind the same.

After breakfast, we will begin the return journey to Pune. Board the afternoon flight at Khajuraho and reach home by evening with forever memories to cherish of Indian Heritage.

Travelers are requested to carry their luggage in accordance with the regulated baggage allowance. Excess baggage will be chargeable and the same is not included in the tour cost.
