These ancient kings from various dynasties have left us a priceless treasure behind….that includes what not….temples, sculptures, art, culture, literature…and the list goes on…
Here we are, ready to take you on the journey of some known and unknown destinations. In this trail, you will hear some unsung stories of Pallava, Chola & Pandya dynasties under the expert guidance of Mr Madhusudhanan Kalaichelavan.
This circuit covers the art and architecture treasured in the Tamilnadu region. We begin this trail with the ancient city of Kanchipuram. Since the 5th Century Pallava dynasty started emerging in today’s Tamilnadu region. Pallava kings erected some magnificent structures during their reign.
Kanchipuram displays some magnificent architecture built in the 6th or 7th century. Kanchipuram is also well known for its native Kanjivaram Saree. A traveller will get to experience the intricate weaving process of Kanjivaram handloom and get a chance to shop for the same.
Then we traverse through the ancient port of Mahabalipuram, the famous Nataraja temple at Chidambaram to Tanjavur, Trichy and Madurai. Enroute we will witness some extraordinary craftsmanship at various offbeat temples that have erected by ancient dynasties.

Tour begins at Chennai. Arrive at Chennai airport in the morning and immediately leave for Kanchipuram. Upon arrival at Kanchipuram, check into the hotel. Fresh n up yourself and fill your tummies with good south Indian lunch. Then leave for sightseeing. Arrive at the hotel in the evening then relax or just have a stroll for shopping. Stay at Kanchipuram. Chennai -Kanchipuram Distance: 60 Km


  • Visit beautiful temples built in the era of Pallava’s, Cholas and Vijaynagara kings.
  • Visit Kanjivaram Handloom factories.

After breakfast, leave for the remaining excursion of Kanchipuram. In the evening check out and leave for the next destination, Mahabalipuram.

  • Have a glance at the evolution of architectural styles at Mahabalipuram. Visit Gangavataran, Panchratha, KrishnaMandap, VarahMandap, Krishna’s butterball, and such magnificent monuments in the vicinity.

After breakfast, visit Nataraja Temple and leave for the next destination i.e. Dharasuram. Enroute visit Gangaikondacholapuram. Witness the grandeur of Gangaikondacholapuram temple and intricacy of Airavateshwar Temple at Dharasuram.

In the morning, visit some temples of the holy city of Kumbhakonam. Post lunch, leave for Thanjavur. Visit Brihadishwarar Temple.

Get ready and leave for another ancient town of Trichy. Visit Srirangam temple and head for the Madurai.
Visit the beautiful Meenakshi Amman Temple and give yourself some shopping experience as Madurai is also famous for silk sarees. Spend the evening at leisure.

  • If any sightseeing mentioned is not done due to any unforeseen circumstances then alternate sightseeing will be done.
  • A traveler may please note that for domestic and international flights, the baggage allowance will be as per respective airline’s baggage policy and weight regulations. Travelers are requested to carry their luggage in accordance with the regulated baggage allowance. Excess baggage will be chargeable and the same is not included in the tour cost. It has to be borne by the traveler.
  • Air tickets issued at special rates are normally NON REFUNDABLE and traveler will need to bear the cancellation charges. If a traveler needs an air booking with the refundable option then he/she will need to bear extra fare specified by airline operator.
