Overview
This trail is going to take you straightaway 1500 years back in timelapse when a place
called Badami was capital of mighty Chalukya Kings.
Badami is a place in a Bagalkot district in Karnataka where Chalukyasrulers emerged in
the 6 th century. They chose Badami as their capital and hence this town came to the utmost
importance. This place's earliest mention dates back to the age of Puranas. Chalukya rulers built
and carved some marvellous monuments, which in return made Badami famous.
Badami has also been famous for the native goddess, Banashankari. Just 5 km away from
Badami, there situated a beautiful temple of Banashankari Devi and a magnificent water tank in
front. This deity is revered by many people across India and an important place for worship.
Apart from Badami, Chalukya rulers have left their mark on nearby area as well. Amon
which Pattadakal is a magnificent World Heritage Site and Aihole is believed to be an early
native of Chalukyas. Visiting and understanding these sites is truly an astounding experience.

DETAILED ITINERARY
Start the journey in the morning by bus. Reach Badami by evening. After Check into the hotel, Fresh n up and visit Banashankari temple. Head back to the hotel and spend the evening at leisure. Stay at Badami Pune – Badami (Distance:454kms)

After an excursion of Aihole, return Badami by evening. Stay at Badami.
