Nashik like a fine wine has gotten better with time. Time as old as the Mythologies we
worship. A land of cultural magnificence, history, and heritage.
According to mythology, this is one of the places where at the beginning of a Satya Yuga (Era)
the Lord Vishnu himself dropped a few drops of Amrita (the nectar of immortality) creating the
ground. This incidence made Nashik one of the holiest places in India and devotees, sadhus from
all across the world gather at the banks of Godavari to get consecrated. This event also is known
as Kumbh Mela.
It is the Panchavati region in Nashik where Lord Rama,Sita, and Laxman settled for a while
during their vanavasa.
However, in 11th century, Yadava rulers came up with a magnificient architecture; today we call it 'Gondeshwar.' This monument is located at Sinnar, near the city of Nasik. The temple is unique in many aspects and stands as a testimony of exquisite craftsmanship. Alongwith, this structure, this vicinity also houses another small yet intricate temple of Aishwaryeshwar.
