Gwalior …. Well, everyone knows this place as an important historic city and the famous princely state of British ruled India. The state of Gwalior has played a crucial role in building the medieval history of India. But that’s not all!
This region is hiding some ancient treasure that gives us a sense of ancient history. This tour is designed to unearth this ancient treasure from the history of ancient India. Apart from typical itineraries of Gwalior, we will be witnessing some of the magnificent ancient monuments like Bateshwar Group of Temples, Mitaoli, Kakanmath, etc. along with Jhansi and Orchha. Jhansi is a place associated with Rani Lakshmibai. She does not require any introduction to the fellow Indians. She fought British rule with valour and inscribed her name in the pages of history with golden letters. She has remained an inspirational icon for all the Indians
Orchha on the other hand speaks the medieval history. The city founded in the 16th century by Bundela Rajput Chief displays some remarkable styles of medieval architecture. This tour is going to take you to some offbeat places for sure. And the most amazing part is Gwalior and Orchha has been declared as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO in last year. Board the early flight to Gwalior. Arrive at Gwalior by noon. Check-in to the hotel, have lunch and refresh yourself.

  • Gwalior is a city, famous for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. It holds grand palaces and intricate temples.

After having a delicious breakfast, we will leave for Gwalior Sightseeing which includes Gwalior Fort, Teli ka Mandir, Tomb of Tansen, Sas Bahu Temple, and many other interesting sites.
Arrive at the hotel by evening.

Highlights

  • Visit Gwalior fort – It is referred to as the ‘ Pearl among the fortresses’ by Babur and it is believed to have existed since the 6th century. One of the magnificent place to visit.
  • Teli ka Mandir – It is an ancient temple dated to 8th-9th century.

Have breakfast and leave for the next destination i.e. Bateshwar Group of Temples and Mitaoli. For the next few hours, we will be exploring some of the ancient temples and interesting stories behind them. Arrive at Gwalior by evening. Stay at Gwalior. (Gwalior – Bateshwar distance: 37 km)

Highlights

  • Visit Bateshwar Group of temples – These temples once had remained in the occupancy of dacoits. But ASI has done a colossal job in acquiring and restoring these important historic monuments.
  • Visit Mitaoli – There is a hillock where a temple dedicated to 64 yoginis has been constructed in ancient times. A unique circular temple is a must-visit when around Gwalior.

Get ready early, as today we have to travel to Jhansi and Orchha. Visit fort of Jhansi and witness the history of the great Rani Lakshmibai. Later, visit Orchha fort.

FEW POINTERS

  • If any sightseeing mentioned is not done due to any unforeseen circumstances then an alternate sightseeing will be done.
  • A traveller may please note that for domestic and international flights, the baggage allowance will be as per respective airline’s baggage policy and weight regulations. Travelers are requested to carry their luggage in accordance with the regulated baggage allowance. Excess baggage will be chargeable and the same is not included in the tour cost. It has to be borne by the traveler.
  • Air tickets issued at special rates are normally NON REFUNDABLE and traveler will need to bear the cancellation charges. If a traveler needs an air booking with the refundable option then he/she will need to bear extra fare specified by airline operator.
